Dong Da Festival Hanoi commemorates the exce-llence of Emperor Quang Trung. The offering sacrifice takes places in Khuong Thuong Commural House and the mass for peace of the dead souls place at Dong Quang Pagoda. After the procession of the Thang Long fire dragons, there is an offring of incense and a litary reciting ceremony. Co Loa Festival takes place every year at An Duong Vuong Temple in Dong Anh District, on the outskirst of Ha Noi. Co Loa Festival commemorates Thuc An Duong Vuong, the man to whom the 18th Hung Kinh gave his throne. An Duong Vuong named his country Au Lac and chose Co Loa as the capital. Twelve hamlets take part in the procession for the Spirits and in the many activities such as swinging, rice cooking competitions, and tru and cheo singing.

Trieu Khuc Village, part of the greater village of Tan Trieu, is renowned for its hats, silk, embroidery and other handicrafst. The festival takes place every year at the communal house of the village of the village to commemorate the merits of national hero Phung Hung (770-798) and to celebrate the weaving profession. Le Mat Village belong to the greater village of Viet Hung in Gia Lam District. The festival is held to mommemorate the son of the Hoang family (the tulelary spirit of the village) who reclaimed the wasteland to found the village. The highlight of the festivities is the snake dance, an original performance held in the yard of th communal hoise, this dance is significant because the polulation of Le Mat is renowned for catchinh and breeding snakes.

9th day of the 4th lunar month

Dong Festival is annually held on the 9th day of the 4th lunar month, date when Dong defeated An invaders in Phu Dong Village, Gia Lam District, 29km from Ha Noi centre.

The Festival ia held on a large scale to com-memorate the hero of Dong village, who was honored Gennie Dong. The Festival begins with the procession from Mau Temple to Thuong Temple. After the precession are music and dance performances. Village also stage a mock battle between Dongs troop and the invaders to celebrate the victory.

Later, when the night falls, people perform Cheo, a Vietnamese classical opera. The festivities end on the 10th day of the 4th month with the troops inspection and the thanksgiving procession.
